Valence - February 2013

Hi everybody ! So next February, some of you will come to France in Valence for the 5th meeting, that's why the French team have decided to make a short presentation about our city which will be yours during one week. We really look forward to seeing you and we hope that you will spend good time here ! Enjoy...

Valence is a city in southeastern France, the capital of the Drôme department, situated on the left bank of the Rhône, 105 km south from Lyon on the way to Marseilles.
Its inhabitants are called theValentinois. Valence was part of the French Towns and Lands of Art and History.
Formerly the duchy of Valentinois, it was ruled by the Duke of Valentinois, a title which is still claimed by the Sovereign Prince of Monaco, though he has no actual administrative control over the area.
Valence lies at the northernmost band of olive cultivation: the local saying “à Valence le Midi commence” that means “at Valence the Midi starts !” and that means that the South of France starts in Valence.

The rich and the poor Lazarus

There was a certain rich man… and a poor man named Lazarus” (Luke 16:19-20).
Wealth and poverty are situations in life, situations of living which encompass many everyday realistic dimensions in contrast to the Human Rights Declaration.

Nelly's Impressions from Cyprus

Saturday, 10 March 2012

Saturday, 10 March 2012, was unfortunately our last day in Cyprus...

4 of 5 Greek girls at Choirokitia

We left at 11 o clock in the morning for Larnacas airport. On the way to the airport, we stopped at Choirokitia, a neolithic settlement of Cyprus. We took a lot of photos of this ancient little village.

Then we left Choirokitia and we went to Larnaca...

Me & Christina

There, we walked around the town and seaside. We bought a few souvenirs to remember all those beautiful days we spent in our lovely mediterranean island.

After visiting Choirokitia and Larnaca, it was time to go to the airport and back to Greece...

We returned to Greece, with such wonderful memories in our minds.
For us, this trip to Cyprus, is a lifetime experience that we will never forget!!!

Rehearsal of the Orchestra of Cypriot School
Thursday was a very constructive and interesting day...

We attended the lesson of Ancient Greek for the first two periods. Then we met the other Comenius participants and did some musical activities.

After that each delegation presented their power point files about the human rights in their country.

That night was the European night at school, where all the participants tasted traditional food from each country and learned a little more about the other cultures. We had a great time with a lot of music and dancing!!

Discussion at Main Hall
Friday was the last day at school and everyone was very sad...

After the first two periods we had our last Comenius meeting.Firstly, the award of the logo contest was given to the winner.

Then a group of Cypriot students tought traditional dances to the European students.Lastly, we had a really interesting discussion about several problems of our countries.

In the evening we went out for dinner and then all the European students went to a karaoke club, where we had a wonderful time singing and dancing together!!!
