Violence against women

Students of 4B Iter realized a spot about violence agaist women.

For the final meeting in Karben,  delegations were asked to prepare a composition of photographs which summarised the activities taking place in their own countries during the two years of our project.

Our project in etwinning platform - Quality Label of September 2013

Along 2011-2013 we have been using eTwinning platformand the Twinspace of our project "Human Rights in Europe between Ideal and Reality Rights and Challenge for Students in the 21st Century by means of Poetry, Arts and Music" as a tool of communication and coordination for the teachers involved in the project and a medium for the dissemination of our works to the eTwinners.

So, many Chat sessions and communication were held among teachers involved through the eTwinning platform.

Until now, the German and the Spanish Team have won the etwinning Quality Label and in eTwinning Newletter of September 2013 our project is referred as the project with the Quality Label of the Month.

This award is encouraging and gives us more motivation to go further...

Final Resolution

This document, which was passed at the last project meeting in Karben, Germany, on 19th April 2013,  is the result of our common work along the meetings in Čelákovice (Czech R.), Limassol (Cyprus), Chieti (Italy), Póraj (Poland) and Valence (France).

 It is our common resolution for our schools, local and national governments and the European Comission reflecting our commitment for the respect and promotion of all human rights regardless of sex, class, race, religion, opinion or any other issue.

Mural of Ceramic Tiles in Poland

One of the most successful art workshops in our 4th Comenius Meeting in Póraj, Poland, was a pottery workshop where European students and teachers made pottery tiles representing our support to human rights. 

The Polish Team dried the tiles, enamelled them and baked them, and finally produced two beautiful murals which are hanging on the walls of the main hall in Gimnazjum im. Kazimierza Górskiego.

Poetry Contest - Results - Winners

One of the project's aim is to make the educative community aware of the importance of human rights by using music, language and arts and to respect and defend those rights so as to become constructively critical European citizens.

Not only language helps bridging the gap to understanding and cooperation but also music and art as non-verbal means of communication play an important part in our project. Applied in lyrics, poems, songs, videos or drawings the aesthetic dimension help to see beyond the pure communicative purpose. 

Preparing their participation in Chieti meeting, the last of the 1st year's project implementation, the students from all countries, besides all, concentrated on a new activity; Poetry.

They were encouraged to create poems, energizing their minds and spirits through immersion in a creative and intellectual journey; and building the momentum to carry us away into an ongoing experience.

The period of poem-writing started after the 2nd Comenius Meeting in Limassol, on March 10^th 2012, and continued into the spring school holidays, which  ended on April 25^th. More than 35 poems took part to the competition.

All pedagogical teams from the 9 partner-schools decided upon the best poem of their school, which participated to the final phase of the Poetry Competition. All the other poems were shared for paintings or illustrations. 

All young students explored their creative potential and discovered new approaches to learn and disseminate knowledge on the Human Rights, showing their artistic talents through poetry and the arts.

Juries from all schools voted by e-mail the 3 best poems. All poems of the competition  were interpreted during a specific ceremony during the 3rd Comenius project Meeting in Chieti on Saturday, May 5th, 2012.

THE “SHOAH” TOLD BY THE STUDENTS.

“If to understand is impossible, to know is necessary”. Primo Levi’s assertion has been the leading motive of the conference held in our school ITCGT ”F.Galiani” to celebrate the 12th Holocaust Memorial Day on the 67th anniversary of the pulling down of Auschwitz gates and of the end of the nazy folly. 

An anniversary celebrated in other schools in Chieti and in the prefecture with the delivery of medals of honour to the Theatini citizens deported and interned in the nazi lager. The students have read passages of several works linked to the nazi period , starting from “ Mein Kampf”, where Hitler explained his political thought and outlined the nazi programme To think over this dark and terrible historical period with the students is important to prevent attitudes contrary to a peaceful multi-ethnic society.
